Mercy Corps alleviates suffering, poverty, and oppression by helping people build secure, productive, and just communities around the world. Mercy Corps is on the front line of global crises such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes.

The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) operates America's only national hotline for victims of sexual assault and abuse. The hotline (800-656-HOPE) offers free, confidential counseling and support 24 hours a day, from anywhere in the country. Founded by Tori Amos and Atlantic Records in 1994, RAINN has helped more than 1 million assault survivors and was declared one of the top 100 nonprofit organizations in the United States by Worth magazine.

Program for Torture Victims alleviates the suffering and health consequences of torture through psychological, medical, and social services to victims of state-sponsored violence. In many cases, proponents of free speech and democracy are vocal about their views and their oppressive governments tortures them. PTV helps these torture survivors and reunites them with their families.

Children of the Night helps abused children between the ages of 11 and 17. They provide housing, food, education, medical and psychological care. They help lives of hundreds of children each year and are one of the most well-run nonprofits we have ever seen.
